  1. Who can edit / delete time entries?

    People with the permission Can Log Time can access the Time section and record time or log time against a task.

    The following rules apply to deleting/editing time entries:

    • Administrators can edit/delete any time entry
    • Project Administrators can edit/delete any time entry
    • Project Members with Can Log Time permission can only edit/delete time entries they logged themselves.
  2. Can I log time on a task without going to the Time tab all the time?

    Yes. To log time against a task, click the options menu next to the task and click on Log time. A form will display in-line allowing you to log the time spent on the specific task.

    A clock icon will display next to any task that has time logged against it.

    Tip:

    When time is logged against a task, you can click the clock icon to quickly log more time entries against the specific task

  3. Can I get a time report across all projects?

    Yes. You can click the All items tab and then choose All Time.

    This will allow you to generate a report over all your projects for a given date range.

    The resulting report can be downloaded as:

    • CSV
    • Excel
    • PDF

    To generate a time report specific to a project, click in to the project and choose the Time tab.

  4. Can I start a timer for the task I am working on?

    Yes. When you are about to start a task, click the Task Options drop-down to the left of the task and choose Start Timer

    The task timer widget will load at the end of your screen and start timing you. When you are finished with your task, click the Log Time button on the task timer widget.

    You can also start a timer independent of a task. View the Time tab in a project and click the Start a timer button.

  5. Can I get a time report for a specific task list?

    Yes. If you want to see all time logged for a specific Task List, browse to the Project, click Tasks and then on the Task List you want to report on, click the Task List Options drop down and Choose Time Report...

  6. Can I get a time report for time logged to a particular company?

    Yes. If you click "Everything" in the top left, then choose the "All Time" tab.

    On the right of this page is a button called "Custom Report"

    When the dialog appears to choose the report options, change the "Which Project?" drop down to "A particular company's project"

    Choose the Company and generate the report.

  7. Do you have a Desktop Timer Application?

    Yes. You can download the Teamwork PM Desktop Timer App from the Extras Page

    You will need to enable the API for your account before you can use the Desktop App.

  8. Can I log time for multiple projects at one time?

    Yes. If you want to add multiple time entries at once for different projects, you can do so in the Everything - All Time page.

    At the top right of the page, click the button "Add Time". An interface will display allowing you to create multiple time entries at once.

  9. Can I restrict a user to see only time logged by them?

    Yes. This is a per project user permission.

    On each project, click the People tab and edit the permissions of the user you want to only see time logged by them.

    Change the permission Can view other peoples time so it is unchecked.

    When they view the Time tab they will only see time logged by them and not time logged by other people on that project.

  10. Can I restrict a user to only be able to log time for themselves?

    Yes. This is a per project user permission.

    On each project, click the People tab and edit the permissions of the user you want to only be able to log time for themselves.

    Change the permission Can view other peoples time so it is unchecked.

    When they log time on this project, they will only be able to select themselves.

  11. Can I log time for multiple people on a project at the same time?

    Yes. When you click the Log Time button on a project, you can click the Select multiple people option and a time record will be created for each person selected.

    This is useful if multiple people were at a meeting and one person was tasked with logging time for each of the people who attended.

  12. Can I export my time to Freshbooks?

    Yes. To get started with exporting your billable time and expenses to Freshbooks, you need to enable the Billing tab for your projects.

    When you turn on the Billing tab, you will now be able to group billable time and expenses into invoices.

    You can set a fixed price to your invoice or set rates per user against billable logged time so the invoice totals up automatically.

    Once you have your invoice created, you can export it to either:

    • Freshbooks
    • Harvest
    • Blinksale
    • Excel

  13. Can I export my time to Harvest?

    Yes. To get started with exporting your billable time and expenses to Harvest, you need to enable the Billing tab for your projects.

    When you turn on the Billing tab, you will now be able to group billable time and expenses into invoices.

    You can set a fixed price to your invoice or set rates per user against billable logged time so the invoice totals up automatically.

    Once you have your invoice created, you can export it to either:

    • Harvest
    • Freshbooks
    • Blinksale
    • Excel

  14. Can I export my time to BlinkSale?

  15. Can I export my time to QuickBooks Online?

  16. Can I export my time to Xero?

    Yes. Using the Billing tab on your project you can choose an invoice and export it to a Xero Compatible File.

    Enter the Customer Name that will be used as a contact in Xero and click "Generate file"

    Once your Xero Compatible file downloads, head over to your Xero account

    • Click Accounts
    • Choose Accounts Receivable from the drop-down menu
    • Click the Import button
    • Locate your Teamwork Invoice file you just downloaded and click Import
