What are project resources?

The Resources tab in each project allows users to embed 3rd party applications, links and web pages in a popup window such as Google Documents, YouTube Videos, Standard Web pages, ProofHQ Proof tools and hundreds of over services we haven't even thought of!

The Resources feature is similar in layout and functionality to the Files tab. Resources can be grouped into Folders for categorization and listed grouped by date.

Creation of resources is simply, easy and fast! The form to create a resource is broken into steps

The final resource can be viewed by clicking on the title and the resource opens in a new popup dialog right within Teamwork Project Manager

As with Files, Tasks, Notebooks etc, all resources can be commented on and marked private if you want only your company to see them!

Any embeddable object can be pasted into the Code part of the resource creation dialog such as:

• Full IFRAME code from provider
• Flash OBJECT/EMBED code from provider
• Single link item

Note:

Because 3rd party applications may not always be secure, a security prompt may be shown when viewing a resource. Most 3rd party providers such as Google Documents and ProofHQ provide a https version of their links. We have also added the option to turn off SSL for your domain in the Site Settings section.

I am getting a security message when trying to view a resource. Why?

Because resources are embedded items from other providers, there is no guarantee that they are secure (running on https) and your installation of Teamwork Project Manager may have SSL turned on.

To fix this you can:

• Ask the provider to provide a HTTPS version of the item
• Turn off SSL on your Teamwork Project Manager installation
  • This can be turned off in the Site Settings if you are an administrator

What should resources be used for?

You can use resources to:

• Embed Google Documents in Teamwork Project Manager
• Embed and work on ProofHQ.com proofs within Teamwork Project Manager
• Maintain a list of websites that may be of interest in the scope of your current project. When you add a single link as a resource, you have the option to open it in an entirely new window
• Comment and discuss embedded tools with your colleagues
• Add training videos, pod casts etc

How do I embed a YouTube video?

Browse to the Video on YouTube.

Under the video player, click the Share button.

Click the Embed button.

Copy the code displayed in the textbox. It should contain an IFRAME snippet of code.

Paste this in to the Code part of the Add Resource form in your Teamwork account.

How do I embed a ProofHQ.com proof?

From your ProofHQ Dashboard, click on the dropdown to the right of the proof you want to embed.

• Choose "View proof details"
• Scroll down to the "URLs" section.

• Copy the code displayed in the "Embed viewer" textbox. If should contain an IFRAME HTML code snippet.

• Paste this in to the CODE text box when you are creating your Resource in your Teamwork account.

How do I embed a Google Document?

• Log in to your Google Documents account.
• Click the document you want to embed.
• Click File and choose Publish to the Web
• In the Embed Code text area, copy the embed code. It will contain an IFRAME snippet of code.
• Paste this in to the CODE box of the Add/Edit resource in your Teamwork account.
