  1. I would love to use Teamwork Project Manager but need my own server. Can I do that?

Yes. Contact us to find out how you can lease the software to host on your own inhouse server.

You can contact us using : http://www.teamworkpm.net/index.cfm/page/contactus

  2. Can I lease a dedicated server with you guys?

If you would like to lease a dedicated server for your installation of Teamwork Project Manager, please contact us directly : http://www.teamworkpm.net/index.cfm/page/contactus

We'll manage everything and your data will be stored on a dedicated server seperate from other peoples data.

  3. Can I give access to my projects to other people?

Yes. In your installation of Teamwork Project Manager, you can add as many people and companies as you need and give them access to your projects.

You can decide which people have access to which projects and more importantly, what features of each project they can access!

  4. Which kind of remote connection to our server do you need?

To set-up your server, your technical staff need to provide us with access via remote desktop.

We will need access through your firewall from the TeamworkPM HQ's static IP address on port 3389 for remote desktop. We will provide our static IP address when requested at support@teamworkpm.net.

Your server should also have standard access to the internet on port 80 for us to download set-up files and access to the internet on port 3690 for subversion updates.

In summary, ports 80 and 3690 need to be open and port 3389 needs to be open for our office IP address only.

If you have any questions, please email support@teamworkpm.net

  5. Do you need to be able to reach the server with some other protocol than graphic remote access?

No. We will just remote-desktop into your server and configure everything. As long as the ports mention above are open, we can do everything we need to do.

  6. Do you need administrator priviledges on the server?

Yes, we need to install some software and configure some settings that require administrator level access to your server. You can create an account for us and disable it later as you wish.

  7. Should the server be able to go out on internet (with http, ftp, etc)?

Initially, we will require port 80 access to the internet to download installation files to your server.

After installation, port 80 may be disabled as you wish.

Port 3690 should be left open to receive regular software updates via subversion (optional).

Remote desktop access (port 3389) from our offices (statip ip address) should be left open for optimal support.

  8. Which version of MySQL is required?

The latest stable release of the community version should be installed. At time of writing this is version 5.1.

We would prefer to do the installation of MySQL for you and will configure security etc.

If your staff wish to perform the MySQL installation or you already have MySQL installed, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

  9. What is the mimimum spec of server required.

The server doesn't have to be too powerful but obviously the more power and memory, the better TeamworkPM will perform for you.

At a minimum we would ask for
    Dual core 2.80ghz
    1 GB ram
    80Gig hard drive.
running any of: Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008

We would also request that your server has 2 hard drives if possible, one for the operating system and 1 for the application and storage.

The application hard drive should be big enough to accomodate all your files.

Your server can be as powerful as you like, for example and optimal server might be:
    64 bit architecture
    24 Gig RAM
    Windows Server 2003/2008
    80gig OS hard drive
1TB hard drive in RAID configuration
