New Year Updates & News

The new daily email report
A belated Happy New Year to all our customers!
it’s been a while since I posted here so sorry about that; it’s like I went away. in fact, I went home to New Zealand for Christmas which was great.
While I was gone, the team (Peter, Dan & Fiona) have been busy continually improving TeamworkPM with the goal of making Teamwork the best online project management application on the web.
We respond to so much feedback that we feel like we are in close contact with our users, and it is really helping us drive Teamwork forward and iron out the rough edges. So a big thank you to all of you for your continued support and suggestions. We appreciate it!
2010 - Getting Stuck in..
it has been a busy start to the year for us here. Dan and Peter have already rolled out some nice updates and improvement to Teamwork as you can see from our live updates page.
Featured updates
- Reassign Tasks: Now you can choose which tasks to reassign instead of all of them.
- Gravatar support when editing a user profile. if image is blank and gravatar exists, save the gravatar as the user image.
- Task Files: This is huge, Peter was stuck on this for ages but check out how easy it is to attached new OR existing files to a task. A lot of time went into making the interface for this really easy to use and the uploaded files inherit the permissions from the task.
- Major update to Daily Email Report.
- And many more...
Um, where's the APi?
Our main priority now is releasing the APi. Peter and Dan are working on right on this night and day, literally. Now I know what some of you are thinking, “ yeah right, we heard that before” but I promise you they are.
The API has taken us a lot longer than we wanted but then again it’s something we really want to get right from day one.
The reason it’s taken so long is because as the guys have been developing, it has lead to other sections within the site having to be re-written to allow for better integration with the API which will in turn give more options to all you developers out there.
The extended development time on the API also caused delays to our iPhone app. The app is pretty much completed but it requires the API to function first, so once the API is finished the iPhone app can move ahead.
Peter has promised that the API will be ready for the start of February to a few developers, we have even given out a few test authentication tokens to a few developers. if you’re interested in getting your hands on the API the moment it comes out please register your interest by sends an email to iwanttheapi@teamworkpm.net
The other three main features that we are working on:
- The ability to assign tasks to multiple project members
- All people must do the task.
- All people are responsible but only one person must complete it.
- Dedicated "Reports" tab.
- Time Enhancements
- Report on all billable time excluding invoiced time.
- Report on all invoiced time.

Assigning tasks to multiple individuals and being able to create sub-tasks will massively increase TWPM's utility value as this will then reflect the reality of collaborative team-working - ie more than one person being involved in solving a problem or undertaking a task and "chunking down" big tasks in to manageable bits. Can't come soon enough! My hunch is that these features will be more valuable to more people than many of the other features in the pipeline. Keep up the good work guys - TWPM is dead easy to use and looks good to boot.
We finished the iPhone App on time but we got delayed with the APi. Peter and Dan have spent the last month working flat out on it and we have just rolled out an update which is an important step to finish the API off. We only have a few small tasks left with it.
Our next step then will be to send the iPhone App off to Apple for their approval. As soon as we do this we will post up news.
Sorry about the delay but we are nearly there.
I like your tool really, but without a backup solution it is a little bit risky.
