October 08, 2009 · Sam Kidd
it's been a busy September here for us with TeamworkPM we are now about 2 weeks away from having our first iPhone App finished and along with that our API will finally be finished as well. I know a few of you have heard us say that before but I promise you it's very close to been available now. :-)

While we having been working on the major updates we have also been working away on tweaks and general improvements to TWPM based on a lot of feedback we having been receiving from all our users.

This is a list of updates that went live at the start of October:

  • Upcoming tasks were blue
  • Upcoming milestones were light blue

Thanks to all our users who have provided us with feedback for TWPM we always read everything that comes in and we try over very best to respond to all of you.
Please keep it coming as it helps to make TeamworkPM a better product and it keeps us on our toes ;-)

I need to choose this sort of software (testing Basecamp), but I need the APi. Any chance of some details of the interface and its similarity to Basecamp and any chance of a date or a beta version to test?

Looking good! Once the commenting/file attachment on tasks is brought up to par my company will be purchasing TWPM! Looking forward to it, we are so sick of basecamp.

I've been hanging in there waiting for teamworkpm to finally best basecamp overall. The API is all that's left.

We're evaluating TWPM now and so far so good, but is there any way to send a notification to someone/project manager when ALL tasks for a project are completed?

Fabulous news about the iPhone app. I'll put a note in my diary to check back. BTW, for all of those evaluating TWPM over Basecamp.... choose TWPM. it's by far a better tool. We used Basecamp for years before we stumbled across TWPM. We moved instantly and haven't even thought about going back.

Only thing stopping me from switching from basecamp is the API and integrations with freshbook.

Glad to know the API will be ready soon.

We are looking to finish off the last few tweaks with the iPhone app by the end of this week. Then it will be going off to Apple for approval.
I have it running on my iPhone now and it's really starting to come together now :-)

Will this iPhone app have:

- ability to add and edit at least tasks, including their durations
- work offline (ie when out of signal)
- ability to track time against a task

Mobile access is what ties me to Basecamp at the moment, since none of the real BC alternatives have anything like the apps available (their apps tend to be read-only, or web apps, or non-existent). A decent iPhone app this side of Christmas would be enough for me to switch before some big projects come online in the new year.

How close are we to finishing the two-week wait on the APi?

I know, 2 weeks did at the time seem like it was possible but as you know time does fly. We were making the last few tweaks to the iPhone app on Friday just gone which means there were a few more tweaks as well to the API that were needed. All going well and depending on Apple we would hope to have our App on the App store this side of Christmas.

Any update on the iPhone app?

Has it at least been submitted to Apple, since that will likely take some time for approval? Also, how will we know once it's been approved?

We are evaluating TWPM and are liking the product overall. A solid iPhone App would probably put us over the top.
