Calendar & People Page Overhaul
Another day down at Digital Crew, and today we can go home happy as we have got a whole list of improvements implemented and rolled out to the servers.
Improved Calendar
The calendar is now much much much much prettier. We redid the colors and layout of the entire month view, milestones and events to make it much prettier. See the screenshot.
Event alerts
All calendar events now have events alerts. We have both mobile phone text alerts and email alerts working (but at the moment only the email alerts are available to the public). These alerts are a fantastic way of making sure .....
Local time now displaying correctly
We were getting reports from Soeul, Korea, that the displayed time was one hour ahead of what it should be. It seems our logic for calculating the local time didn't play well with Daylight Savings times (DST).
Hours of difficult code later and this issue is now fixed. The time should now display correctly for every timezone regardless of DST.

The small things are important!
We got a great suggestion regarding the size of the new message content area from one of our new users last night and as its the Bank Holiday weekend over here, I said I would add it to Teamwork Project Manager today.
Choosing text area dimensions is a juggling act; make them too small and the user has to scroll constantly to establish context and make revisions; make them too big and you risk wasting valuable screen real-estate!
To enable the best of both worlds, I have implemented a feature that grows and shrinks the message writing area depending on the length of your message p.....
Updates : Comment replies via email
The new comment system is working out brilliantly here for us and makes the team collaborate ideas more efficiently.
The one thing I get finding myself doing was replying to the notification emails to reply to the comment....I was so used to the reply by email functionality of project messages!
Tonight, I added the ability to reply to comments via emails too. Any email notifications for comments placed on Tasks, Files or Notebooks can now be replied to and your new comment added to Teamwork Project Manager!
Its the small things that count!.....
New Feature : Comments, comments, everywhere!
One of the most requested feature from customers and our own staff is the ability to add a comment to an item. While the messages serve as a good discussion ground, there are times where you want to add a comment on a notebook, task or file.
This weekend we implmented a generic commenting system on the following:
Tasks
Notebooks
Files
We are debating on whether there is merit in being able to comment on milestones.
The comments are fast to add and even faster to view. Notifications can be sent via email and also show up on the Dashboard and Project Overview page.

New Feature : Task List Templates
One item that has been on our roadmap for quite some time and a feature lots of people have asked us for is the ability to create Task List Templates.
Task List Templates are groups of tasks that can used to create new task lists across all your projects. As you projects grow in number, you will find yourself creating the same tasks over and over again.
To make this experience better, you can now create the templates from the Settings page.
One you have a number of templates defined, a new option to use this template is available when you create a task list.
