  10. Security is very important here, what steps do you take to secure our information?

A very good question. We secure your information in a number of ways:

    Coding Guidelines and checks

    - We enforce strong coding guidelines
    - We used a custom-built framework called SiteEngine.
    - SiteEngine secures all site pages and prevents access to unauthorized users.
    - All Ajax response action pages are secured against being called directly.
    - Included files cannot be linked to directly.
    - The SiteEngine Framework prevents access to all pages (except the login page) without authorization.
    - Query parameter checking is used everywhere to type-check and secure against SQL injection attacks.
    - URL and Form parameter checking is used everywhere to type-check user requests and secure against and prevent attacks.
    - All content that originates from a user is escaped with XSS filters preventing Cross Site Scripting attacks.
    - Uploaded user files can not be linked to directly - they are streamed though our application server for security.
    - Integrated permission system prevents unauthorized access to objects.

    Database
    - The database has character escaping turned off.
    - Passwords are stored in hashed format - even with access to the database, passwords cannot be determined
    - Multiple-line SQL statement execution disabled to prevent SQL injection attacks.

    Server Setup
    - Error reports are automatically emailed to developers - this also shows any hacking attempts.
    - High security SSL is used online for all logins and is an option for any host-it-yourself installation.
    - Policies include routine changing of server access passwords.
    - All OS and middleware security updates applied and routinely checked.
    - All unnecessary services are disabled.
    - High strength passwords are used.
    - Debugging only available to registered IP Addresses.
    - Execute permissions disabled on web folder to prevent uploaded files from being executed.
    - Files stored in off-line location.

    Hosting
    - Servers are in a highly secure location.
    - Access to servers is limited to a few people.
    - Firewall prevents access from unauthorized locations (except for port 80 basic HTTP).

    Testing & Awareness
    - We monitor general Internet security threats and viruses and ensure all updates and hot fixes are promptly applied.
    - We have a number of scripts and tools such as SQLPowerinjector to test our interfaces.

  11. Is there a file size limit on uploads?

File uploads are limited to 2GB in one go.

The amount of file storage space depends on the price plan you are currently subscribed to. If you choose the Enterprise plan, you can upload up to 50GB of files.

We provide a flash-based multiple file uploader that allows you to upload groups of very large files in one go. You also get a nice progress bar on each file and
an overall progress along with the speed of the upload shown.

    More information here:
    http://www.teamworkpm.net/index.cfm/page/features-files

  12. Can clients upload files?

Absolutely. By default, clients can upload files to your project. This is essential for good collaboration.

You also have the option of not allowing clients to upload files or not allowing them to view existing files in the files section. This is set per-user-per-project.

You can also have private files in a project that the client can't see.

  13. Is there a field for tracking extra info on tasks?

There is a "longer description" field on each task where you can put in all the extra job/task details.

Yes, you can set up task list templates and even project templates.

  15. Do you have a mobile interface?

We have an iOS app for iPhone which is available on the App Store and is a free download.

  16. Is it possible to set up the default page when you first login?

We decided against allowing users to choose different start pages when they log in as it would might confuse people.

What you can do is just bookmark a specific page and then after the login you will go straight to that page.

  17. How do I delete a finished project?

On the project overview page, there is a drop down menu on the top right of the page. Click the menu and choose the "Delete Project" option.

  18. We are using Basecamp - is there any way to move all our data across to Teamwork?

Note that when a project is inactive, you can no longer make any changes until it is made active again.
